 Heavy Horse Display

Taking place in the main ring on show day, we are excited to welcome our first heavy horse display. In this demonstration we will learn about the carriages, harnesses and what judges look for when these beautiful animals enter into competitions.

They will also be on display during the day to meet them and ask any questions.

  • THE SHEEP SHOW

This fun-filled presentation introduces onlookers to 9 different breeds. Each has a story to tell with interesting facts and figures relating to their variety. Each taking their place on stage accompanied by their very own theme tune. Nobby the Norfolk Horn is the star of the show… and he knows it!

Following the Wooly antics of their introduction, we give a live shearing display accompanied by an informative narrative where audiences learn the reasons we shear the sheep and about the complexities of types of wool. And if that’s not enough, we round it off with our star-studded flock treating us to “The Sheep Show Shuffle”, yes, you heard it here first, our very own… “Strictly Come Baancing”! What would Craig say!?

  • GIANT ALDABRA TORTOISES

They love visitors to give them fuss and attention and are very friendly and interactive. Education and raising awareness about Giant tortoises is important as they are vulnerable to extinction.

  • INTER HUNT RELAY

This action packed relay, on mirrored courses,

will keep you all on the edge of your seats, quad bike, riders, obstacles, thrills and spills on the way

  • FUN GUN DOG SCURRY

Any gundog breed can enter the competition with Prizes for 1st, 1nd and 3rd place. Also, 'Have-A-Go Scurry' for any other breed,  great fun!!

  • VINTAGE TRACTOR & VEHICLE PARADE

Enjoy the old and new, Traditional versus Modern, machinery at its best. These tractors have worked through the years and have such an important role to play in farming and the countryside

  • CUMBERLAND & WESTMORLAND WRESTLING

Watch the experts fresh from the Championships. Great classes for all ages for you to "have a go" at, with prize money paid. Classes for adults and children, great fun to take part in.

  • Industrial Tent

Our very own Bake off  with lots of culinary delights, combined with  craft skills competitions, Photography and dressed sticks ,

  • AGRICULTURAL DEMONSTRATIONS

In our main ring we are having a demonstration of bailing in action as well as an “old farmers” verses “Young Farmers” competition. Using old and new machinery with great commentary explaining one of farming's main attractions!
